Mike Jenkins appointed as inaugural Be Intelligent Board Chairman
Updated: Jul 13
Hyperscale growth Kiwi tech company “Be Intelligent” has this morning confirmed the appointment of award-winning and well known entrepreneur Mike Jenkins to the role of Chairman.
Mike is the founder of The Instillery, New Zealand’s leader in cloud, next generation IT, managed services and security. Be Intelligent and The Instillery formed a partnership in 2021, leading to the opportunity for Mike to join Be Intelligent as the first board member.
Be Intelligent is a leading New Zealand-owned Salesforce consultancy, specialising in strategic digital transformation and experience optimisation.
Founded in 2018, the business has grown rapidly, consistently at 100%+ per annum in a highly competitive market dominated by large internationally owned consultancy organisations.
At its inception, Be Intelligent had three team members and a handful of local clients - today the company has 30 experienced consultants across Aotearoa and in Australia, more than 60 clients, and has maintained a zero failure record of project delivery - all of which has driven double or triple digit revenue growth.
Mikal Todd, Be Intelligent Founder and CEO, says: “One of the reasons behind our success to date has been our focus on securing the right people with the right attitude and combination of functional and technical experience to support our clients to take their businesses to the next level.
“I am delighted to have Mike joining the Be Intelligent whānau because I know he is uniquely positioned to take our business to the next level, particularly as we look to further grow our presence beyond Aotearoa.
“Mike is an experienced, knowledgeable leader within the Kiwi technology industry. His energy, fire and drive are infectious and we know that with his support, we can take our winning formula to the world.”
Mike Jenkins says: “From my own experience with The Instillery, I know just how powerful and important it is to have a real time single pane of glass view of the customer journey within the organisation and that is exactly what the team at Be Intelligent are experts in delivering for their clients across both the private and public sector globally.
“With a dramatic increase in remote work on the back of Covid-19, it makes sense that we’ll see even more organisations look to digital selling and marketing to stay afloat but also ways to leverage data to empower their remote workforce while enabling enhanced accountability and productivity for these distributed teams. But on top of that the majority of Kiwi businesses have really struggled to get their heads around how AI and data-driven intelligence can be leveraged in their businesses to deliver measurable results in their own unique industry verticals.
“I’ve been watching from the sidelines for the past decade and Salesforce has dramatically improved collaboration and business intelligence but most importantly enabled a faster time to value for its clients. They’ve achieved this by breaking down traditional business silos by combining platforms like Quip, Salesforce Meetings with Salesforce Anywhere, Tableau, Mulesoft and probably the biggest of all, the multi billion dollar acquisition of Slack.”
Proudly Ngati Raukawa, born in the Horowhenua and raised in the mighty Waikato, Mike says he is proud to be joining the “Be Intelligent rocketship”.
“Talking to their own whānau, clients and partners, I know they walk the talk. They’re truly a values-driven business who love their team and their clients, they care about protecting the future of Aotearoa for our tamariki with a deep focus on sustainability and diversity with over 60% of their team female and over 20% are NZ Māori or Pasifika - and that in conjunction with what I believe is a globally unique ability to surprise and delight through their blend of Salesforce design, implementation and operate services is something I’m super excited to get behind in this new Chairman role.”
As Founder and Director of The Instillery, Knode and trustee of Cultivate & Elevate Aotearoa’s future, Mike was the winner of “CEO of the Year” at the Westpac Waikato Business Awards 2020 and the “Emerging ICT Leader of the Year” at the New Zealand CIO Awards 2016.
